Since 2020, The Information Technology Law or The IT Law Moot Court Competition is an annual internal competition that is held at The Faculty of Law, The British University in Egypt, and its first year to be held nationally is in the academic year 2022-2023.

The internal rounds of the Competition have been held to hone the skills of The Faculty students aspiring to participate in international competitions. These internal rounds continue to act as the main pathway to selection of the teams representing The Faculty in bigger competitions.

The competition considered the largest Mooting event among Egypt gathered all law faculties in Egypt argue a hypothetical cases in Information Technology law and merge it with other controversial topics.

The Unit is gladly initiating this year’s Competition on a regional level, where all the African and Middle East universities will come to compete on the premises of The Faculty. This year’s case promises to be intellectually stimulating, covering issues related to International Humanitarian Law, Information Technology Law, Intermediary Liability, and Intermediaries’ Compliance within the framework of the Geneva Convention. This competition will witness regional participation for the first time, after four previous editions held internally for The Faculty students and one national edition for all Egyptian students.
